The new Bitcoin ATM in Interlaken is located at Bahnhofstrasse 23d, in the iPeople AG / iCoffee premises. Here, you can buy cryptocurrencies with cash and sell them for cash. Its proximity to the Interlaken West train station makes it easy to combine a visit with a train or bus trip or a stay in the city center.

Before you arrive, it’s a good idea to set up a cryptocurrency wallet, have your ID ready, and decide what type of transaction you’ll be making. Buying cryptocurrency and receiving cash after selling it require slightly different preparations.

Which cash currencies and cryptocurrencies does the Bitcoin ATM support?

\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

When making a purchase, the machine accepts CHF, EUR, USD, and GBP. When selling cryptocurrencies, however, you can receive banknotes in CHF or EUR. Therefore, just because a currency is accepted for purchase does not mean you can withdraw that same currency.

Supported cryptocurrencies include:

  • Bitcoin – BTC
  • Ethereum – ETH
  • Tether – USDT
  • USD Coin – USDC
  • Litecoin – LTC
  • Tron – TRX
  • Binance Coin – BNB
  • Solana – SOL

The location description also lists the TRC20, ERC20, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, and BSC networks. The availability of a specific network depends on the selected cryptocurrency. Before sending funds, compare the network specified in the transaction with the network supported by the wallet or platform you are using.

What should you bring to the Bitcoin ATM?

\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Before making a purchase, have cash ready and the address of your cryptocurrency wallet—preferably in the form of a scannable QR code. Check in advance to make sure your wallet supports the selected cryptocurrency and network.

You will also need a form of identification. At this location, verification requires scanning the document using the white scanner next to the machine. Follow the on-screen prompts during the transaction.

If you are collecting cash after selling cryptocurrency, bring your cash collection code. Before travelling, check that the transaction has received the required confirmations and that the Bitcoin ATM has enough banknotes available.

Buying cryptocurrency at the Bitcoin ATM

\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

You buy cryptocurrency directly at the Bitcoin ATM. Having your wallet QR code ready makes it easier to enter the receiving address for your crypto.

The transaction process includes:

  1. Selecting a cryptocurrency and the network available for it.
  2. Perform the required verification according to the on-screen instructions.
  3. Enter the wallet address and deposit the bills as instructed by the machine.
  4. Verify the address, network, amount, exchange rate, and all displayed fees.
  5. Confirm the transaction and keep your receipt.

After making a purchase, check the transaction in your wallet. Don't assume that the funds will appear immediately—their visibility may depend on how quickly the network processes the transaction.

You can find the complete instructions in the guide on how to buy Bitcoin with cash. If you’re waiting for your funds, check how to check the transaction status using the TXID.

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Before confirming a purchase or sale, compare:

  • the name of the cryptocurrency and the selected network
  • wallet address or the address specified for the transaction
  • the amount of funds transferred
  • exchange rates and fees,
  • currency of the cash received

Do not make a payment at the request of a stranger who has sent you a QR code or promises to secure your funds. When making a purchase for your own use, use your own wallet address.
